MARY ELIZABETH WATSON On Sunday morning Betty passed away after putting up a good, long fight at Grace Hospital at the age of 92. Born in Quebec City and raised in Montréal, she was a very proud member of the Canadian Women's ARMY CORP from 1941 to 1945. After coming to Winnipeg, she married Fred Watson in 1950, and together they had three children, Lorraine (Graham Moyse), Neil (John Wehr), and Sharon (Scotty McIntosh). She had also been blessed with two grandchildren, Nathan Moyse and Heather McIntosh. She made us all proud when she graduated with a BA in History in 1987 and she has been a member of St. Saviour's Church for 30 years. She will be remembered for her big heart and sense of humour. She will be dearly missed, loved and never forgotten by her family and friends. Funeral will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Saviour's Anglican Church (Munroe and Grey Street) at 2:00 p.m. A graveside memorial will be held at a later date. Thanks to the staff of Central Park Lodge 8th floor, Dr. George and the staff of 5 North Grace Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Elizabeth and family. I just discovered your Mom's obituary and cannot help but wonder if she was the same Elizabeth (Betty) Watson with whom I corresponded in the 1990s about Norah Boyce. She was Norah's executor - Norah had spent many years in my birthplace of Red Lake. I remember Betty talking about having lived at Gunnar Gold Mines at Beresford Lake in 1939, when she met Norah and her husband, Russell Boyce. I am really not sure if this was your Mom. - Posted by: John Richthammer () on: May 28, 2015

Grandma coming to visit was always something to look forward to. We never knew what adventures we would encounter with her around. And this past year, making visits to her was equally entertaining and every moment filled with love. We will miss her voice, he smiles, her hugs and kisses, but we firmly believe she is with us every moment, and we could not ask for anything more. Love you Grandma xox - Posted by: Heather McIntosh (Granddaughter) on: Mar 10, 2013

She was like a Grandmother to me. Her witty humor would always put a smile on my face. She will be missed by all that knew her. Rest in peace Grandma. - Posted by: Shirley McIntosh (Step-Granddaughter) on: Mar 01, 2013

I am saddened to hear of Mrs. Watson's passing. She was a great supporter of the Heather-Belle Ladies' Pipe Band and had accompanied us to Scotland. She did have a great sense of humour! My thoughts and prayers are with the family. - Posted by: Heather Wiens (friend) on: Feb 28, 2013
