AMELIA DERCOLA (nee JANNETTA) Our hearts are full of love for our mother and grandmother who passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Amelia will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Tom and Peter, and daughter Lucille (Rob). Her pride and joy were her two grandsons Robbie and Michael. She adored them and they shared with her all of their hopes and dreams for the future. She was so very proud of them and their accomplishments. We would like to thank our brother Peter, who was her primary caregiver for the wonderful care he gave to Mom and allowed her to stay in her home, which is what she wanted more than ever; that will never be forgotten. She met and married the love of her life, Tony, on April 28, 1943. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage, before Dad's passing in 1993. Her whole life centered on family, nothing was more important to Mom than having family gather together for a party'. She always put everyone's needs before her own. Cooking and preparing Italian feasts were her specialities. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital for their kind, loving and compassionate care. We cannot thank you enough. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will honour and celebrate Mom's life at a later date with a family get-together. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3J 3M7. Dear Lord - please take a message to my dear Mom up above. Tell her how much I miss her and give her my love. There is nothing so treasured and nothing so rare That a love a mother and daughter can share Through joys, through laughter, through sorrow We developed a closeness that grew through the years The love that we shared didn't need to be spoken. To those who have a mother, cherish her with care For you never know the heartache, until she is no longer there Rest in peace Mom Love you Forever - Lucille NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca

  • Amelia must have been a remarkable woman to have had a son like Tom who does so much for everyone. Thank you! I do not know his siblings but I have a strong idea that they are much like Tom. - Posted by: Shirley McDonald (FRIEND of Tom Dercola) on: Mar 03, 2013
