With heavy hearts and great sadness we must announce that he has left our lives. Left to cherish his memory are his mom, Heather Jonasson, stepdad Ryan Kramer, dad Gary Jonasson, sister Sarah Jonasson-Platt, brother-in-law Eric Platt, brother Daran Jonasson, bro Tim, afi Mike Guttormson, grandma Maureen Vorheis (Dick), aunts and uncles Doris and Clayton Bristow, Cindy Guttormson and Derek Condy, Irene and Ed Zink, Brian and Shirley Jonasson, Karen and Arthur Gislason, Harley and Sharon Jonasson, Dale and Pat Jonasson, Tracy Yaremus, Murray and Christine Jonasson, Robyn Thompson, Kevin Kramer, Linda and Bruce Benson, Laurence Kramer and Marianne and Joop Van't Hoff. Also, cousins Amanda, Jessie, Chelsea, Adam, Josh, Tristen, Michael, Luna, Beverley, Billy, Cathy, Corrine, Terrence, Svany, Wade, Marla, Shelley, Bradley, Jennifer, Justin, Cydnee, Jordan, Devon, Asia, Erik, Madison, Morgan, Lyndsee, Jake, Ti, Ally, Kaela, Melodie and many other relatives. Jared was predeceased by his grandparents, amma Doreen Guttormson, amma Jonina Jonasson and afi Joe Jonasson, grandpa Marlo Kramer, uncle Michael Guttormson, cousin Corey Guttormson and cousin Cheryl Gislason. Jared was born at Victoria Hospital and lived in Gimli, Spruce Sands and Winnipeg. Jared was a very positive person who loved nature and animals, especially his dogs Nico and Coco and cat Kesa. He enjoyed to research and share his wisdom. Our young, handsome man had a wacky sense of humour. He had his own special insight into life. Collecting crystals, rocks and shells brought him happiness. Jared had a natural athletic ability, excelling in soccer, badminton, ping pong and cycling. He was an awesome brother to Sarah and Daran and had a very special, loving bond with his family. We are so fortunate to have had Jared in our lives and we will never be the same without him. We all loved him so much and will always remember his warm smile. Jared was an explorer, having travelled the world with his family to many destinations including a road trip to British Columbia, stopping at all the beautiful attractions along the way. He also travelled to San Francisco, Cuba, Calgary, Toronto and Niagara Falls. His summers were often spent camping, fishing, boating and enjoying time with his family. Jared was spiritual and practiced yoga and meditation. He saw life as it should be seen. His values and priorities truly mattered; love, kindness and peace. He lived that reality and may we all learn from him. The family gives thanks to the local R.C.M.P., EMT personnel and medical staff at Camp Arnes. Also thanks to the staff at Gimli Hospital for their efforts and the special gentleman who found Jared and Coco. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson Hall in the Waterfront Centre, 94 First Avenue in Gimli, with reception to follow at the hall. A private family interment will be held. In Jared's memory, donations may be made to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society, 100-4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1C4, or the Gimli Humane Society, Box 1999, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. We are so sorry for your loss. Our boys remember coming to Gimli and running down the street to play with Daran & Jared every summer, playing at the lake, digging a hole half way to China, playing in your yard and then in ours until it got dark.
