Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I just came across this and thought I would say something. I remember Andy coming out to our farm in Meadows as a kid. And he was friends with my parents. He always came out goose hunting and for visiting our family.. I still have the ashtray he made for my mom. I believe he made it in the 60s or 70s. I will always remember him and his kind personality towards my family. Rest well and hope to see you on the other side. - Posted by: Ron Carlson (Family friend) on: Jun 27, 2024

  • When I was a little girl, I was kind of (quite) afraid of Uncle Andy. He was a bit loud and a bit rough around the edges and swore a little bit. As I grew up, these became the things I liked about Uncle Andy. He was his own guy, he cut to the chase, and you never had to guess where he stood on any issue. What you saw was what you got. He was the real deal. And he was smarter than most people realized, he knew who was worth bothering with and he had a GREAT sense of humor. When my parents couldn't get around much any more, he would drop in several times a week just to bullshit with Dad and to fill them in on the neighbourhood news. That was grand. He had the Peterson nose, the Peterson sense of humor, and definitely the Peterson charm. I so hope there's a heaven so he and Ilene can continue their playful arguing that they had so much fun with. - Posted by: Shirley Peterson & Bruce McConnell (Ernie) (niece & nephew-in-law) on: Mar 08, 2013
