OVIDE MARION Peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, Ovide passed away at Actionmarguerite (Taché Centre) at the age of 85 years. Ovide lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Florence (nee Fontaine), his children Mona (David) Otsuji, Colette (Mérille) Kirouac, Lorraine (Guy) Saurette, Gabriel and Denis (Kristen); 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren; his siblings Antonia Fiola, Philibert (Agathe) and Dolores Tailleur as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Julien, daughter-in-law Lorraine, and his siblings Denise, Amédée, Roméo and Laurence. Ovide had a very strong faith and was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus often volunteering with the Knights and the St. Boniface Cathedral. He was a dedicated husband and father who loved spending precious time with his grandchildren and family. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica. Ovide worked for 34 years at Griffin Steel. He would be the first to help with anything and insisted on helping without asking for anything in return. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 9 at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 ave de la Cathédrale at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ovide's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
