DORIS HELEN HADALLER (nee GOSSEN) Peacefully, on March 4, 2013, Doris Helen Hadaller passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital, at 88 years of age. Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Valerie (Don) Sciberras, granddaughters, Wendy (Ian) Robinson and Barb Sciberras, five great-grandchildren, Christian, Austin, Joshua and Logan Robinson, and Ayva Sciberras, her sisters, Mabel Dirks, Alice Berg, stepbrother Elmer Guenther, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer (Bud), her son Larry, her grandson Shawn, her brothers Allen, Henry and Louis, stepbrother Garry, and sisters Mildred and Janice, as well as her parents, step-parents and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Mom was born in Saskatchewan and came to Manitoba as a young teacher, where she boarded with the Hadaller family and fell in love with their youngest son, Bud. She and Dad wed in 1953 and farmed in Hazelridge for all of their married lives, until 1986 when Dad passed away and Mom retired to Kin Place in Oakbank, where she lived until her passing. Mom's main focuses in life were her family and her faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all of us, and a friend to everyone else. She was an exceptionally good cook and we could always count on fresh buns and our choice of delicious homemade soup from the freezer whenever we visited her. She loved to share her faith in God with anyone who would listen, and her prayers will follow each of us long after she's left us. A celebration of Doris' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Oakbank Baptist Church, 26033 Springfield Road in Oakbank. After a luncheon following, interment will take place at Millbrook Cemetery, Anola, MB. If so desired, donations can be made in Doris' memory to Youth for Christ, 333 King St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0N1 or Focus on the Family, 19946-80 Ave., Langley, BC V2Y 0J8. God doesn't promise us tomorrow... but He does promise us eternity. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

  • I was sorry to have to miss your Mom's funeral Valerie. I remember her with her smile and her little laugh. I talked with her one day not too long ago as she was going for her shower. She was still positive and friendly - a very lovable woman! - Posted by: Lori Reimer (McKay) (Friend) on: Apr 03, 2013

  • I have always admired and drawn strength from this wonderful, compassionate woman. Though experiencing many trials and much pain herself, she continued to have undying love and concern for others. Doris radiated inner beauty and strength, loved many and was a positive example for all women. I'm sure there is much celebration, for Heaven is a richer place as she's re-united with loved ones Thankfully, she has left us a woman of similar character, caring and compassion. I love you dearly, Val. - Posted by: Debbie (Knopp ) Grace (friend) on: Mar 09, 2013

  • Our sincere sympathy on the loss of your sweet dear Mom, Valerie. Although we have lost touch over the years, we still remember the smile on your Mom's face everytime we met. What a precious lady she was. You remind me so much of her. She is at peace now! We are unable to attend the funeral because we are presently in Texas; but would be there for sure if we were at home.
