ILONA LANZ (nee RUMPLI) On March 4, 2013, Heaven received our dear mother, Ilona, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Rumpli. Mourning the loss are her father, Laszlo Rumpli, sister Rose (Steve Vincze), Ilona's sons Robert Komzak (Jennifer), Leslie Komzak (Mandy) and daughter Ilona (Grant Spencer); four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends and colleagues. Ilona was born in Hungary in 1950 and arrived in Winnipeg in 1957 with her family to start a new life. Ilona had a passion for Christ and was very active in her church with decorations, drama and singing with the choir. She loved her family and always put them before herself. She filled the room with laughter and had incredible style. Ilona's zest for life extended into her love of travel around the world with friends and family. Ilona worked for many years at Meadowood Manor as a Dietary Aide where she made many lifelong friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Waverley Fellowship Baptist Church, 2171 Waverley St. in Winnipeg on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care as she courageously battled repeated bouts of cancer. Ilona was always ready to help others so in lieu of flowers, donations to the CancerCare Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room 0N1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 would be appreciated. Mom you will be missed! NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca

Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • I would like to thank Ilona for being like a mom to me when Les and I where growing up together. Every time I was over at Les's house Ilona would always make me eat something while I was there. Les and her would always stop by and pick me up for church. I will miss her a great deal. The Lord is very lucky to have someone like Ilona to join him. R.i.p.
