Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAHAM CORRIN Peacefully on February 7, 2013 Abe passed away with family at his side. He was born on March 6, 1914 in Winnipeg. He worked as a sewing machine operator in the family business, Corrin and Sons, manufacturers of children's and ladies coats. Abe is survived by his loving wife Gertie (Betty), daughter Doreen Merrick (Arnold), grandchildren Steven (Suzette), Sheila (Martin), Kimberly (Dan), great-grandson Ian Reinhorn; brothers Louie, Joe, Jack and sister Evelyn Snider. He was predeceased by his brothers Max and Sid. Abe met Betty Barlin in 1936 and they were married in 1938. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. Abe and Betty spent summers at their cottage at Winnipeg Beach. In later years they wintered in Florida and Palm Springs. In his early years dad enjoyed riding his bike, gardening and wine making. Dad and mom are life members of Gwen Sector. Dad loved to dance and every Wednesday afternoon he offered his dancing prowess to any lady in need of a partner. After dad retired he had a little tailoring business and was known as Zipper Abe. Mom and dad worked as a team and mom was by dad's side as his health failed during these last few months. A graveside service was held Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, 16 days before their 75th Wedding Anniversary.
