GLADYS HOLMES On March 7, 2013 Gladys passed away peacefully at the age of 78. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas in October, 1995. She is survived by daughters Dana (David) Saltzman, Sherri (Darcy) Roberts, Leanne (Herb) Sigurdson and sister Irene Drebit. Also survived by her six grandchildren Shari, Laura, Autumn, Randi, Travis and Taylor and great-granddaughter Layla, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and her special sister-in-law Gail and buddy Mugsy. Mom was born in Sewell, MB. She moved to Winnipeg to attend high school. There she met Doug. Little did she know, the guy she avoided would be her husband. They married and raised their three daughters in St. James. Mom was an avid sewer, knitter, weaver and reader. In the early years we enjoyed many family camping trips. Mom and dad also travelled many places in the US and Canada and enjoyed the great times spent at the cottage. Shortly after the passing of her husband, Mom moved to Teulon. She made many new friends at the park and still stayed in touch with her close friends and neighbours. Many thanks to CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Loudan and the fabulous nurses and staff at Teulon Hospital for taking such good care of our mom. Memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teulon Library, 19 Beach Rd., Teulon, MB R0C 1H0. You are with Dad now. Take care of each other. We will all miss you dearly. XO.
