Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN JOANNE BENSON It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our much loved daughter, sister and aunt. Peacefully on February 28, 2013, Kathy passed away at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. Kathy was born on April 23, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent her early childhood years attending Lord Roberts and Churchill High School. Shortly after graduation in 1987 she moved out to Langley, BC to pursue a hairstyling career. Kathy was a very positive and fun loving person who lived life to the fullest, especially caring for her two dogs Squirt and Boomer. She had a loving bond with her family and enjoyed every moment when she came back to Winnipeg for the Christmas Holidays. Kathy truly loved spending time with family and friends, playing pool, bowling and gathering at Mom's house to play cards. Left to cherish her memory is her Mom, Myrtle, brother John (Susan), his children Tyler and Carlee, brother Don (Jackie) and his children Nicki and Kenny. She was predeceased by her father Gesli Benson. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the paramedics and medical staff at the Royal Columbian Hospital for all their efforts and help during this difficult time. We are fortunate to have had Kathy in our lives and we will never be the same without her. We all loved her so much and will always remember her warm smile. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Kathy, it was a pleasure to know you. When all of us kids in L.R.,R.O and Riverview all came together at Churchill High, none of us envisioned the journey we would all embark on together. I'll always remember the fun all of us had and the pains of growing up. I've always held you in high esteem. It was great to see you again several years ago with my sister Joanne.
