Date of Passing: Mar 06, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARRIE CROUCH (nee BARGENDA) We are saddened to announce Carrie passed away peacefully at Oakview Nursing Home on March 6, 2013, at the age of 94. Carrie was born on the family farm on the Birch River near Medika, MB, to Kataryna and Anton Bargenda. She is survived by sister-in-law Rita of Texas, stepson George and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Ivan Crouch, sisters Helen, Mary, Polly and brothers Joseph, Stan, John and Walter, step-children Andrea and Monty. She and Ivan ran a successful construction company for many years working on the Port of Churchill and developing roads. She spoke often of their work on the Trans-Canada highway east to Kenora. One of Carrie's greatest joys was antique cars which Ivan loved to restore. Carrie kept in contact with their cars long after they had been sold around the world and greatly enjoyed the many antique car club outings over the years. Carrie was an active member of her church, especially with her friends of Circle 9. Carrie enjoyed a quiet life of home, family, involvement with the Manitoba Antique Car Association and friends after retirement but also enjoyed travelling extensively. We would like to thank the staff of Oakview, 3rd floor for their care and kindness to her during her years in residence. If desired, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in celebration of Carrie's life. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United. A private interment will follow. Carrie lived her life with passion. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Am sorry for your loss. I met Ivan when I was in grade 12 1979 at his car wash. Nice man, he adored you and also found you very interesting. I thought you had another child around the age of 20 at that time. He came to visit the Winnipeg bible college married quarters. I met Carrie only once, at a car club luncheon in 2004 when I was a new member, but was so impressed by her lively stories and outlook on life that I recalled her immediately when I heard she had passed away. - Posted by: Roberta Beach (acquaintance) on: Mar 11, 2013
