ELAINE KYLE (SR. JEANNE ST. VINCENT) 1909 - 2013 It is with saddened hearts that Les Filles de la Croix' announce the passing of our dear Sister Elaine Kyle (Sister Jeanne St-Vincent). Sister outlived the members of her immediate family - parents, brother and sister-in-law. She leaves to mourn members of her religious community as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Sister was born in Redvers, SK on September 1, 1909 and grew up on a farm in Oxbow, SK. She was the daughter of Vincent Kyle and Laura Gaudette. Growing up on the farm with her brother, Donald, Elaine learned to love God's creation on the western prairies. This love of nature inspired her to develop her painting and sculpture skills and her interest in flowers and gardening. After completing High School, Elaine enrolled in Regina's Teachers' College. She taught for three years but interrupted her career to join les Filles de la Croix in La Puye, France in 1933. Upon pronouncing her vows in 1935, she returned to Canada to continue teaching. She also gave music lessons. Her skills in management lead her to administration and leadership positions which involved being Provincial Bursar from 1951 to 1963 and Provincial Superior from 1963 to 1972, as well as overseeing the construction of our Provincial House on 66 Moore and a house in Bellegarde, SK. We will remember Sister Elaine as one who enjoyed and lived life to the fullness. She dearly loved her family and was always very happy and eager to hear from her nieces. Her cousins and friends also held a special place in her heart. She loved the Congregation and dedicated her life and energy to serve it. She was a woman of great faith and compassion. Her smile, her serenity, her concern and hope for the future have left a lasting memory. The family and the Sisters wish to thank the staffs of Villa Aulneau and of St. Boniface Hospital for the exceptional care given to Sister Elaine in the final months of her life. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the chapel of Villa Aulneau, at 601 Aulneau Street in Winnipeg on Friday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Adolphe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220.
