Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNADETTE ROSE AIMEE TANGUAY 1933 - 2013 Bernadette Tanguay, aged 79 years, of Lac du Bonnet, MB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home. Surviving her are several siblings and their families, as well as many friends in Lac du Bonnet and Pinawa. In 1947, Bernadette and her 10 siblings were left orphans after losing both their parents in tragic accidents in June and November of that year. Bernadette eventually went to live with the nuns where she learned to knit so beautifully. This was a talent she nurtured all her life, filling countless number of requests for socks, mittens, etc. Her life travels, after enduring back surgery and the loss of her boyfriend in the Korean War, finally led her to Pointe du Bois, where she worked for 30 plus years with Winnipeg Hydro at the staff hotel. She was very proud of her work accomplishments and also cherished the many friendships she made there. Along with knitting, she also enjoyed many summer days at Pointe du Bois blueberry picking. Bernadette's faith was very important to her and she attended Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church regularly. Even when she moved to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, she attended Wednesday Mass on a regular basis, until her Alzheimer's became too advanced. Extra special thanks and blessings to the exemplary nurses, aides and support staff at the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home who took such good care of Bernie. You are all Angels. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB with interment to follow in Lac du Bonnet Cemetery. Viewing and Prayers will be said on Friday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. also at the church. Donations in Bernie's memory may be made to the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home, Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice. Her weary hours and days of pain, Her troubled nights are past; And in our aching hearts we know She has found sweet rest at last. Bernadette was a regular when I worked at subway in lac du bonnet. She always came in with a smile and would sit and chat with me often. She always brightened my day with her smile and stories and would bring me little trinkets as gifts that i still have to this day and will forever cherish them. She was such a generous lady who made people feel special and loved. I will always remember her as a gentle soul who will always hold a special place in my heart. Sending love to all her family and friends xo I will always remember you bernadette. Love always xo - Posted by: michelle zytnyk (friend) on: Mar 18, 2013

I remember when my Aunt came to Winnipeg to visit our family. Those visits were always full of happy times and lots of laughter. Aunt Bernadette was a gentle soul who always had a gentle hug and a ready smile. We will miss her. - Posted by: Angela Van Unen (Niece) on: Mar 18, 2013
