JEAN HRECHKOSY (nee KOSOWAN) Jean passed away peacefully at Middlechurch Home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. She is survived by her children Marlene (Tom) Kraemer, Tom (Lisa), grandchildren Laura and Andrew Kraemer, Kaylyn and Devyn Hrechkosy; sister Sophie Waltbauer; brother Nick Kosowan (Lorraine); sisters-in-law Luba Kosowan, Lillian Pickering and Frances Winkler and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 2004; granddaughter Melanie in 1991; her parents Alex and Mary Kosowan; four brothers John, Michael, George and Fred; five sisters Dora, Agnes, Sadie, Olga and Vicky. Jean was born in Gardenton, MB. on June 14, 1922. She left school at an early age to work for a family where she cooked and did household chores. She later worked in a mining camp and restaurant. She met Peter and they were married in 1952. They spent many weekends at the lake with family and friends. She then spent her years raising Marlene and Tom. Mom was an excellent cook, loved to garden and be outdoors. As Mom aged, arthritis and hip replacements really slowed her down. Eventually no longer able to manage on her own, Mom moved to Middlechurch Home where she has resided for three years. Many thanks to those who visited her, to Seven Oaks Hospital staff and especially to those who cared for her at Middlechurch Home B1. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 9:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
