GARY ARMSTRONG January 19, 1947 March 14, 2013 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend after a courageous struggle with ALS. Left to mourn his loss is his wife Lorna of almost 45 years, his children Darryl (Terri) and Shelly, grandchildren Josh, Evan, Jeremy and Kyle, great-granddaughter Bentley, his brother Brent (Peggy), his sister Brenda (Tom) and numerous friends. He was a hard working, strong, proud man now retired from his many years of operating his own business, Armstrong Sales and Service in Argyle. He retired and moved to Stonewall with his loving wife. He loved his morning "coffee shop" dates with his buddies who he cherished dearly. He loved to go for long drives with no particular destination in mind. His grandchildren lit up his eyes every time they entered the room; he was a proud grandfather. He was well known for his "unique" laugh that will be missed dearly. There was not anyone in the world he wouldn't help if they needed him and nothing he couldn't fix. He was loved by all who knew him. We would like to thank our friends who have been there to help us since his illness progressed. In keeping with Gary's wishes there will be no funeral service; instead donations can be made to the ALS Society 493 Madison St. Winnipeg, MB., R3J 1J2 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB., R3L 0K6. Thank you to all our family and friends for their care and support at an extremely difficult time. Thanks also to MacKenzie Funeral Home for their support and compassion. My family was very fortunate to have known Gary for most of his life. First, he was good friends with my Uncle Wally Kowalski when they were in school in Stonewall. Then his son married my sister Terri. He was also close friends with my Dad Ron Lamm (Cathy) and he was always very good to me. Dad and Gary would have a good laugh while they would fix the latest issue with my car, and he taught Darryl what he knew to carry on that tradition. He had a hug for me every time we met, which was not often enough. Gary, you are sorely missed and left us too soon. - Posted by: Shelly Lamm (Sister-In-Law to Son Darryl) on: Apr 08, 2013

Auntie Lorna, Darryl & Shelly, We were so saddened to hear of Uncle Gary's passing. He will be dearly missed for he was truly a man everyone should have the privilege to meet. I will always remember his boisterous laugh and wonderful sense of humour. I loved the times when he and my dad were in the same room, the fun and laughing that resulted are my cherished memories. Our Deepest Condolences to you all. - Posted by: Jeff, Jennifer, Lauren & Patrick Diehl (Uncle (cousin)) on: Mar 18, 2013
