Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Remembering my mom today on her 83rd birthday. She passed too early, having lived with an aneurism near her heart for years. The surgery to remove it proved too much for her to bear. She was tiny but mighty, gentle, and firm while good natured. My mom was committed to raising 4 children who all have been gifted by her intelligence, love and strength. I am blessed for sharing this lifetime with her. Xo Debra - Posted by: Debra Champagne (Daughter) on: May 18, 2024

  • I have such fond memories of Marlene. From the time she started dating my brother, Alex, I viewed her as a very special person. My sister Louise and I considered her to be the epitome of 'cool'. We'd hang around her whenever she came to visit. Marlene was always kind to me. Even when she had two babies in diapers, she took the time to welcome me to her country home for a few days at a time. I don't remember being particularly helpful at age 14, but she was very accepting of having a teenager around. Marlene helped me with alterations, though with 4 young children to care for, that's probably the last thing she needed to do. I didn't see nearly enough of Marlene as I would have liked to, but every time we met at family functions, she greeted me warmly and always inquired about my husband and children. I'm so sad that Marlene is gone. She was a smart, gutsy and independent woman. I miss her dearly. - Posted by: Polly Lavack, White Rock, BC (sister-in-law) on: Mar 22, 2013
