FREDERICK LINDSAY PRICE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lindsay on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl, his two children Clinton and Debbie-Lynne, his brothers Doug (Diane) and Darryl. He enjoyed three careers, photography, teaching and retail, the majority of his working life being 27 years in the R.C.A.F. Passionate about aviation and science, he was past president of Winnipeg Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, member of Manitoba Chapter of the Mars Society, taught astronomy with the Mobile Planetarium of the Manitoba Museum, and volunteered and was a part time employee of the Western Canada Aviation Museum. Lindsay had a lifelong love of learning and shared his knowledge cheerfully and freely. His varied interests included computers, motorcycles, and science fiction. Lindsay had great faith and served as a layreader in the church for many years. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Chad's Anglican Church, Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Western Canada Aviation Museum or the Winnipeg Humane Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. I worked with Lindsay at the base prior to his retirement from the Air Force, and we both shared a passion for astronomy at the RASC. I am retired in Nova Scotia now, and was hoping to meet him when I visit Winnipeg again. Lindsay was a kind and wonderful person, with a super-positive attitude and great enthusiasm. I will remember his laugh, and the good times we shared. Lindsay, you are amongst the stars you knew so well. • Lindsay's joyful enthusiasm for astronomy was a strong encouragement for me in pursuing this activity. Having had the opportunity to work with Lindsay on a RASC committee, I learned that this enthusiasm spread to many other (I have no doubt all) aspects of his life. I will always remember Lindsay's spirited and insightful "Explore the Universe" talks as RASC meetings. Thanks, Lindsay for your knowledge and guidance. You are fondly remembered. - Posted by: Sandy Shewchuk (Fellow RASC member) on: Mar 21, 2013
