JO-ANNE CATHERINE DOIG February 21, 1943 - March 19, 2013 It is with sadness in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Jo-Anne at home on March 19, 2013. Jo-Anne will forever be remembered by her brothers Bob (Cheryl) and John (Sharon), niece Catherine (George), nephew Michael (Ainsley), great-nephews George Robert, Yurri and Nixon and extended family. A special thank you goes to Kathleen Penner who was by her side the complete journey and to her cousin Tom Doherty for his acts of kindness. Jo-Anne was born in Winnipeg to Joseph and Mary Doig on February 21, 1943. She attended St. Mary's Academy and was employed at the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Human Ecology. Jo-Anne's passions were golf, curling, fastball, New England Patriots, crosswords, bridge, music, winters in Arizona and of course Elvis. She loved to volunteer and served on many boards and executives and also enjoyed entertaining. We are grateful to the neighbors who provided many acts of kindness and support. To her many friends and former colleagues near and far who visited, sent cards and called, Thank you. Special thanks to Jo-Anne's Doctors, nurses and homecare aides for their care. Cremation has taken place. Honourary urn bearers are Dr. Ruth Berry, Dean Emeritus and Dr. Nelma Fetterman. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB, with Father Art Seaman officiating. Jo-Anne will be interred in the Woodman family plot in the Polish Pioneer Cemetery, Sandy Hook, MB.
