I received the MB Herald today and there was a reference to the "late" Fred Stoesz. Needless to say, my heart jumped in my chest. I was shocked. I haven't seen or talked to Fred since we were in Young Peoples together in Kelowna, BC, but I followed his work in the Herald. My condolences to Fred's wife, Jolene, his children, and grandchild. Also to his siblings and his parents. - Posted by: Val Hurd () on: Aug 02, 2013

when I found out that Fred was gone I couldn't believe it. My heart feels so sad. Although I haven't seen or talked to Fred for many years I still remember his deep respect and love for God. He lead through example and touched so many lives. Knowing he is not here leaves a void that cannot be filled. My prayers and love go out to jolene and the kids. Love you Jolene and send the biggest hug to you. You are not alone. Thinking of you daily. - Posted by: Sue Mitchell Dyke (friend) on: Jul 23, 2013

I remember Fred from our school days so many years ago. He was a very energetic, fun person to be around and had a great sense of humor. Although we lost touch over the years (as is so often the case), the world will be a different place without him in it. To his wife and family - I know firsthand what you're going through at this time and I pray that you will find God's hand close by, guiding you through the valley. - Posted by: Linda Kwiatkowski (Neufeld) (former classmate) on: Mar 27, 2013

Where Fred and I grew up almost everyone went to church, but outside of church you didn't talk about your faith a lot. As neighbours and cousins close in age, we played together almost every day, and one day as we were walking down George Street in Niverville, Fred told me he had been saved the night before. We must have been about 10, and I remember feeling moved by his joy and amazed that he would talk about this spiritual experience. About a year later I gave my life to Jesus and Fred was the first one I told. - Posted by: Dianne Hiebert (cousin) on: Mar 27, 2013

Such very fond memories of our group of friends hanging out Winnipeg days in the early 70's - then a visit in Los Angeles where I was working with World Impact in 1975 - and I left and he stayed; amazing person - full of laughter, fun, music and just a loving person - and now he's going to be with Jesus for Easter....Jolene and family - may God's comfort surround you beyond description! I first met Fred when he came to Los Angeles with World Impact many years ago. His love for the Lord and caring heart were very instrumental in helping our little band of missionaries feel like a family. Fred was a wonderful example of strength under control, and of consistent love and selfless service. There he met and married beautiful Jolene. Thank you, Fred. I miss you! - Posted by: Carol Nicolet Loewen (Friend) on: Mar 25, 2013
