ELEANORE EDINBOROUGH (nee PASIEKA) Mom left this world March 26, 2013 following a lengthy illness at age 81. She is survived by her husband Bert Cheshire, her children Ken, Gordon, Bob, Kym, and Kathy, grandchildren Jim, Zeb, Steven, David, Derek, Alaina, Jamie, Daniel, William, James and Julien, her stepchildren Barbara, Sheila, Anne-Louise, Marguerite, Shelly, and families, her auntie Pauline and family, and her lifelong best friend and partner in crime, Lola. She is predeceased by her parents Anne and Snorri Kernested and husband Jim Edinborough. Words cannot express how the world has changed without her here. Mom had a big personality in her little frame, Her "tell it like it is" attitude, her humour, and her loyalty to those who loved her will be remembered and missed. That mischievous sparkle in her eyes will remain in our minds and hearts. Moms epic feasts, her way with dogs, the competitive card game nights, her love of company, her way with little ones, her spit-fire personality and farm girl heart, these are the memories that will carry us through this time. The family would like to thank Bert for giving Mom the best years of her life. You are the love of her life Bert. Thank you for taking such good care of her and for giving her dignity until the end. Your devotion will not be forgotten. On behalf of Mom, the family also wished to thank those that were able to see Eleanore through the mist during her long illness. She couldn't always communicate it but the sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes said what she was trying to say...I love you. Moms wishes have been carried out, cremation has taken place and she has requested no formal service. The family will hold a wake in celebration of Eleanore's life at a later date. The mist has lifted now I can see, all my memories are flooding back to me... Rest well Mom, until we meet again...

  • Some of my fondest childhood memories are of hot sunny summer days when "Auntie" Eleanor would come to the farm and pack up more kids than should have fit in the car and take us all to the beach. We had so much fun with her all the time, even days when Mom and Eleanor dragged all of us kids through the bush raspberry picking! - Posted by: Anne Isfeld (Cousin) on: Mar 30, 2013

  • David and I would like give our most sincerest sympathies to all of Eleanor and Burt's family. We have known Eleanor for many years and are sorry to hear of her passing. I worked with Eleanor for a few years and enjoyed the times we had at work. She really was a feisty little thing and when she felt strongly about an issue you knew exactly where she stood on it. We both have many great memories of the times we shared at work and at her home. Eleanor was never boring lol. I hope she is at rest now and enjoying her other friends and family across the river.
