MARJORIE AMY PALMER Passed away quietly on March 2, 2013 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Amy and William Palmer, sisters Norma Lenius and Audrey Charbonneau, and brothers Cyril and George Palmer. Left to mourn are her sisters Margaret Fingold and Joyce McTavish, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Marjie was born January 17, 1926 on Union Avenue and lived her whole life in the Elmwood area. Marjie was a hard worker doing custodial jobs starting with the Legislative Buildings, moving to the Norquay Building and ending her working life at the Red River College. She loved to travel and made many memories on her trips to England, Hawaii and Mexico. Marjie loved dogs, growing up they always had a dog. She especially loved her two Cairn Terriers Penny and Pepper. She was well known in the neighbourhood from the many walks the three of them took. Marjie loved Grand Beach almost as much as she loved her family. Most summers were spent at the cottage with family and friends. She loved and cared for her brothers and sisters deeply. Marjie was particularly close to her mother and had a special bond with her sisters. She was a kind and caring lady who was always ready to help out. She will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched. We would like to thank the many people who helped Marjie in her final years especially her caregivers at River East Personal Care Home. Cremation has already taken place. The funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
