SAM PETER GRAVEL After a long battle with ill health, Sam died peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on Thursday, April 4, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents Matt and Katie; brother Matthew (Ruth); sister Agnes; and a brother and sister in infancy. He is survived by his sister Linda; three nieces, Linda, Carla and Michelle; nephew Rex and great-nephew Hayden. Sam was a well known locksmith and partner in Winnipeg Lock & Key. He was a past president and lifetime member of the Fort Garry Curling Club and of Aerie 23 Fraternal Order of Eagles. Sam was an avid sports fan and fisherman. Special thanks to Debbie and Robbie Martinson for the help and support that they provided to Sam and Mary during this difficult time. Also thanks to the staff on the 4th floor at the Poseidon Centre. A Memorial Service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013 at St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 939 Main Street. Cremation has taken place. SAM PETER GRAVEL On Thursday, April 5, 2013, Sam died at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 80 years. In compliance with Sam's wishes there will not be a formal Funeral Service.   • Met Sam when he operated Wpg. Lock and Key on Notre Dame, next to Archer & Cerritti, a heating company that was a customer of mine when I worked at Wholesale Heating. Later had the pleasure of seeing him at Fort Garry Curling Club. He was a fine gentle man, always great to associate with. Never an unkind word of anyone. A great booster of the Fort.
