FREDERICK HILDERMAN
Date of Passing: Apr 02, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK HILDERMAN December 29, 1916 - April 2, 2013 It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Fred, who went to be with his Lord and Saviour on April 2, 2013 at 96 years of age, two months following the death of his dear wife and life partner, Winnie. Fred was born in Cymric, SK, the second of eight children of David and Katherine Hilderman and brother to three older step-siblings. He received his education and spent his growing years in the Cymric and Govan areas. At a young age, he met and married Winnie, his first and only love. Together, they worked on their farm, making it completely self-sustaining while raising their six children. Providing for his family in the best way he was able, was Dad's priority in life. Due to his health restrictions with asthma and allergies, Fred moved his family to Winnipeg in the fall of 1959. With this move, he sacrificed much in order to provide more and better opportunities for his children- he gave up his love of farming, owning his land, and living in the country. With our Mom, they created a loving home, open and welcoming to everyone. Whatever they had was willingly shared, and through their example, we were taught and shown God's love for each and everyone. Dad's strong faith was always evident throughout his life. Dad resided at Luther Home the last year of his life where he was so comfortable and so "at home". He loved and appreciated the care he received from the staff and Dr. Domke, and we wish to extend our grateful thanks to everyone for their kindness and consideration in caring for our Dad. Fred is survived, loved and will be truly missed by his six children, Faye (Jim), Donna (Bob), Larry (Sandra), Stan (Eleanor), Peggy (Neil), and Michelle, his 12 grandchildren and his 14 great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his sisters Emma and Esther, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Fred's Life will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Friday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Sorry to hear of Fred's passing ... he was a trusted friend of Alexander across the street from you for so many years. Hopefully he is back with Winnie now, and, beyond the sorrow, may they both rest in peace forever. - Posted by: Frances and Michael Bilenki () on: Apr 19, 2013

Memories of both your Dad and Mom will be in my heart for many years to come. As young as what I was they treated me like one of their own daughters and always played a major role in my life. I will miss them deeply. - Posted by: Dorrie Kitchen (friend) on: Apr 19, 2013
