Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Sorry for your loss. Your mom and mine, Francis McIntyre, were good friends when they were young. Your mom was my mom's maid of honour at her wedding to my dad Neil in 1962. I believe they all went to school together. I'm looking at old photos and reading letters from your mom to mine and your mom conveyed what a good friend she was and how much she cared for your family. My thoughts are with you right now. - Posted by: Tara Brooks (Daughter of Francis McIntyre) on: Feb 27, 2018

  • Lots of great memories. We met in junior high or was it at Orioles Community Club? Like Sandra, I remember making those chocolate snowballs, Shirley doing up my hair before teen canteen and of course swimming at Sherbrook Pool. I remember sitting around the kitchen table with you & your Mom, drinking tea, and solving the problems of the world. Later in life we worked together, and you helped me through some difficult times in my life. Thanks for being such a good friend. I'll miss you. - Posted by: Shelagh Dennis (Friend, and later in life co-workers.) on: Apr 13, 2013

  • I have wonderful memories of Shirley as my best friend from 1955 to 1965. Sleepovers, swimming at Sherbrooke Pool, to making chocolate snowballs (how did we know that one potato needed 5 boxes of icing sugar! Many, many laughs and tears. Thank you Shirley for all of that. I guess I always thought that we would catch up again but life just kept us both busy. I always cherish my childhood on Home Street and you especially. Rest in peace dear friend. - Posted by: Sandra Horton (Olson) (Childhood Best friend ) on: Apr 06, 2013
