PAULINE PRATT Sadly passed away, during her 98th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Wallace Pratt, and beloved son Daniel. Dear mother of daughters Leona Leveque (Theodore) and Sylvia Normandin (Lucien). Dear grandmother of Wayde and Lisa, great-grandmother of Alisha Lauren and Hannah May. Sister of Peter (Sophie). Predeceased by sisters Olga, Kay, Anne, Mary and Nellie, and brothers Mike and John. Pauline will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Born in 1915, Pauline was the salt of the earth. She enjoyed her rural roots, and eventually urban life. She often spoke of her love for farm animals, birds, gardening, forests and the vast expanse of the land before her. In youth, she particularily reminisced about her own horse "Jack". Story-time was especially enjoyed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her entire life portrayed a book of love and courage, in the face of struggle and success. "It broke our heart to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you the day God called you home." Our family offers our heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Tuxedo Villa. Should you wish an expression of our loss, please donate to a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Interment to follow. God Bless you all, as Pauline would say before any goodbye. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • I'm so sorry, even though your mom had lived to a good age it is still a great loss to all. Sincerely Doris flaxman (pushka) - Posted by: () on: Feb 08, 2014

  • Thank you all above for sharing your private moments about Gramma Pauline. Let us ALL make a solemn vow to keep our Ukrainian heritage alive with stories of our past, and the wonderful meals we shared with each other at one time or another. When I was a teenager, I danced with a Ukrainian group based out of Hamtramck Michigan, but practiced off Ottawa Street in Windsor...and I have many pictures to share if you wish to see them. I invite your comments on Facebook if you want, and show us the woven bread, kapusta, perohe, and anything that keeps our heritage alive. Aunt Mary and Uncle John would dance in the doorway if they knew we were thinking about them!!!!!!!!! Please gang...post on f.b....I am assimilating so many things to bring us all together for just one last time.... - Posted by: Wayde Leveque (Grandson) on: Apr 14, 2013

  • Aunt Pauline ..I will always remember your smile and stories. Leona and Sylvia and families. No words of compassion or sympathy can ever fill your hearts with the pain your feeling at this moment. I can only assure you that your pain will lessen with each day and peaceful, happy memories of you mother will remain. God bless you both and all your family members with peace and serenity of God's love with deepest sympathy. Love Diana & Bert - Posted by: Diana Reaume (aunt ) on: Apr 13, 2013

  • Our 4 children grew up in the house next door to Pauline and Wally. Pauline was such a lovely, thoughtful lady, sharing the vegetables from her garden, gifting us with her delicious sauerkraut, visiting with the kids when they came home from school. I remember looking out our kitchen window (which was across from their basement window), in the depths of winter, and there were Pauline's beautiful geraniums, blooming with the promise of Spring. We were blessed in knowing her, and we hold all her family in our hearts and our prayers. God bless you with peace at this difficult time. - Posted by: Pat and Mel Finlayson (Neighbours and Friends) on: Apr 10, 2013
