ELAINE ROBIDOUX (née BELANGER) December 7, 1947- April 5, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Robidoux, beloved wife of René, on April 5, 2013 at the age of 65, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Raoul (1989) and Alice Bélanger (2001), sister Marcelle (2001) and brother-in-law René Poirier (1999). A much loved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Elaine leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 37 years René, three sons, Albert, Pierre, and Renel (fiancée Christine Nuessler); siblings Arthur Bélanger, Yolande LaChapelle, Jacqueline (Elmer) McClelland - Lac LaBiche, AB, Léonne (Gilbert) Maynard, Maurice (Cheryl) - Edmonton, AB, and Raymond; in-laws: Madeleine (Otto) Kirzinger, Lionel (Denise) Robidoux, Omer (Edith) Robidoux, Joseph (Marcelle) Robidoux, Jeanne (Gérard) Therrien, Aline Robidoux, Monique (David) Ting, Fernand (Noella) Robidoux, as well as aunt Eveline Tessier and aunt Louise Préfontaine, and many nieces, cousins and friends. Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was always ready and eager to help others often beyond expectations, always wanting nothing in return. She loved camping, enjoyed nature, loved travelling, and getting together with friends and family. After graduating from Précieux-Sang in 1965, she worked with her sister at CIBC. She joined the Navy for a few years before going to work in the Grand Cayman Islands. She returned to Manitoba in 1973 and worked at Canada Post until 1976 when she married the love of her life and moved to Timmins, ON. The family later moved to Kenora, Ile-des-Chênes, St. Pierre, and Winnipeg. She retired from Canada Post in 2012. Despite her sudden illness, Elaine remained strong and fearless in her fight against cancer. She was looking forward to the up and coming wedding of her son, Renel to Christine, in July. Her spirit inspired us all and she will be deeply missed. The family sincerely thank all who provided comfort and support throughout her battle with cancer; special thanks to Doctors Crow, Blais, St. Godard, and Gabriel, as well as nursing and support staff in the Palliative Care Unit and 6A ward at the St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) C1026-409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. The funeral service will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the St.-Eugène Parish, 1007 St. Mary's Rd. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
