JEFFREY ERIC NAZIMEK September 23, 1975 - April 6, 2013 Suddenly, on April 6, 2013 at 37 years of age, we lost a very special person in our lives. Jeff lives on in the hearts he touched: his wife Jennifer, children Carter (six) and Natalie (four); parents Eric and Marjorie; brothers Jason (Krista), Darcy (Cassandra); in-laws Dale and Jo-Anne Westman; sister-in-law Jaclyn (Kevin) Koenig; nieces and nephews Elara, Lyla, Emmett and Ryan; grandmother Anne Nazimek, and many other family and countless friends. Jeff grew up playing hockey, something he was fortunate enough to pass onto his children and the other children he coached. He went to school in St. Andrews, the Comp in Selkirk and Red River College. He was a hands-on guy who was a perfectionist and accomplished anything he tried. In his short life he did many things, starting out as an Icemaker at the St. Andrews Community Club, a Fire Fighter with St. Andrews Fire Department, a Diesel Mechanic at Bison Transport, an Instructor at the OFC, and finally achieving his dream as a career Fire Fighter with the Winnipeg Fire Department, which he truly enjoyed every minute of. Jeff had many great friends with whom he shared many great memories. He was an avid gardener, cook extraordinaire, expert do-it-yourselfer, and would do anything for anyone. He was the best husband and the greatest dad in the world to his children. We wish to thank Dugald Carter, St. Andrews First Responders, and Seven Oaks Hospital for all their help. We would also like to thank Jeff's 8th Station brothers, especially Andrew, and everyone else who has reached out in this time of need. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Jeff's children, The Carter and Natalie Nazimek Trust at any Steinbach Credit Union and In Trust For Carter and Natalie Nazimek at any Cambrian Credit Union. A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Natalie loves you all the way to the moon and Carter loves you all the way to Mars now that you are a little farther away from us. • Jeff and I trained to be firefighters at the same time and served together for St. Andrews South. He was the type of guy that would help anyone out no matter how tough the job or even if it was an inconvenience to his routine - he was always one to count on and that determination proved itself throughout his career as a firefighter, a community member and as a friend. Your children will carry on your legacy and stay true to the straight path that you tendered for them. We will miss your big laugh and larger than life humour. Keep on Keepin' on.
