Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMONTROSE JOHN FIDLER With heartfelt sadness, we regret to announce that our dearly loved Monte passed away much too soon on April 6, 2013. Monte was a very devoted and caring father to his children and a loving brother to his sisters. Left behind to cherish his memories are his son Dallas (Salem), daughter Irene, and stepdaughter Chandelle who he lovingly helped raise from infancy. He was delighted to be a first time grandpa to his grandson Bently. Monte's greatest joy in life came from his children's many achievements whether it be school, sports or work. Monte beamed with pride at every one of their accomplishments. He truly was, a great father. Monte will be deeply and fondly missed by his sisters Jo Ann (Doug), Miranda (Jim) and Nadine (Chris). Also mourning his loss are the mothers of his children Lori and Jen, nephew Charlie (Kim), great-nephews Hudson and Nelson and great-niece Jazmin. Missing him dearly too are little Megan and Teddy from Pinawa. Monte leaves behind many friends, co-workers and cousins. His parents Percy and Sally, brothers Barry and Richard and nephews Dean and Ben, predeceased him. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Monte later relocated to Pinawa and loved the life he made for himself in its tranquil setting. Monte was a very honourable man and was very proud of his work and accomplishments with both his job at AECL and as a volunteer firefighter with the Pinawa Fire Department. He was always participating in charitable fundraising events in Pinawa and had a strong commitment to his community. We love you very much! Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the F.W. Gilbert School located on McDiarmid Rd. in Pinawa. A private family interment will be held at a later date. As Sturgis is rolling close again and I get ready, I can't help but think that as I've been going before (77-78) I had even met Monte and have been going since, there's so many rides through the Black Hills of South Dakota and so many places there we had gone to together, I can't help but rememeber him every time I ride by one of those places or ride roads one of those beautiful roads of the black hills if for "us" some of those roads all lead to heaven and he's still riding beside us as I still have a sense of his presense. Monte always remembered the brothers that are no longer with us. He made a point of of our annual Grave Yard Run. Monte was the most decent man I have ever known. He never said a bad word about anyone! He taught me how to forgive! We spent a lot of time together over the last few years. I've known Monte for over 30 years and words alone cannot express the deep sadness that has fallen upon us as we heard the news of his passing. He truly was one of a kind and will truly be missed by many. May God bless you as you have done so to everyone you came in contact with. I've known Monte for 41 yrs. His sister Nadine and I are long time friends. I was saddened to hear of ur passing. The first thought that came to my mind and I smile was when Nadine and I were about 13 or 14 and we saw a mouse in the kitchen. All we did was stand on chairs and scream while U chased that mouse around until U caught him.. We were grateful..My thoughts and prayers are with ur family at this difficult time.... R.I.P. Although I have not seen Uncle Monte for quite a few years, he has and always will have a special place in my heart. Never judged, never let me down and was there for me even if it was just for a kind, listening ear for so many trials and tribulations in my life.
