LUCILLE GAUTHIER
Date of Passing: Apr 08, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE GAUTHIER Peacefully on April 8, 2013, Lucille Marie Gauthier, passed away at the age of 84 years. Left to mourn Lucille's passing are her two sons Paul (Cathy) of Pine Falls, MB, Jason of Winnipeg; sonin-law Charles of Steinbach, MB; four grandchildren, Kira Lunde (Nate), Kiley, Dana, and Paige, and great-grandchildren Katrina and Korissa. Lucille was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice and daughter Carol. Mom was born and raised in Ste. Agathe, MB by her mother alongside her brothers. At the young age of 20 she married the love of her life Maurice Gauthier and moved to Vassar, MB to work in the hospitality business with her husband and in-laws. It was here where she balanced a career and raising a beautiful family. Mom and Dad were in the hotel business for 50 years and had hotels in Vassar, Powerview and Selkirk. Throughout these years mom and dad made numerous friends and always made sure they were well taken care of and having a good time because this is what made mom happy. Mom and dad retired in Buffalo Point. Some of their retirement activities included gambling at Warroad Casino or having a few bubbly's at the Eagle Club with their friends. Mom enjoyed feeding the deer and making soup at 2:00 a.m. for their friends and family, because you could never go to bed hungry! After dad passed away mom moved to Winnipeg. Mom always had the need to take care of others and although this could have been a time where she could have focused on herself she preferred helping her family. Whether it was taking her grandchildren out for Sunday dinner or making meals with whatever she had left in her fridge, it was helping others that made her happiest. Mom became ill after the passing of her beautiful daughter Carol and moved to the Foyer Valade in 2010. She was very well taken care of by the nurses and staff and was always visited by her friends and family. Even during her final moments she still had her sense of humour and continued to make everyone laugh until her final breath. Although we will dearly miss our mother, grandmother, and friend she is now in a better place and surrounded by many loved ones and she can finally enjoy that cigarette and coffee. Mom we love you very much and thank you for always protecting us and taking care of us. Forever in our hearts! The memorial service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
