Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY ELLARD DZYDZ January 9, 1956 - April 17, 2013 Barry, our much loved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Barry will be forever remembered by his loving wife Penny and daughter Signey; his sisters Linda, Diane, and Donna; brother-in-law Carl (Gayl) Thorsteinson; sisters-in-law Rosalie (Roy) Severn, Tanis (Mark) Carlow and Paula (Jerry) Curic; many beloved aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Barry was predeceased by his parents Michael (1977) and Margaret (1959) Dzydz, and his parents-in-law Johann (1979) and Valdina (2002) Thorsteinson. Barry was a loving and devoted husband and father to Penny and Signey, and a true brother and friend. Barry was born in Gimli and raised in Arnes, Manitoba. He lived his life with character, integrity, humility, humour and compassion, demonstrating an inner strength that enabled him to put the needs of others above his own needs. Barry took great pride in his home and was an incredibly talented craftsman, who had the ability to fix anything and turn a simple piece of wood into a thing of beauty. All through Barry's life, and most recently during his illness, Barry was a straightforward man with no drama or demands, taking life as it came and making the best of each day. Barry lived with humility, always putting his family first and courageously dealing with his illness without complaint. Our family would like to express deepest gratitude to our guardian angels at the Health Sciences Centre on D6, Dr. Ade, Dr. Cooke, Dr. Barry Bergen, Palliative Home Care and special friends Corinne Megarry and Doreen Sigurdson. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). I am so sorry to hear that Barry has passed away. He was always such a nice person, and although I would only see him once a year, he was always the same - warm, friendly and smiling. My Mom always thought so highly of him too. Penny and Signey, my heartfelt condolences to you.
