POLLY SHOULTS May 7, 1919 - April 18, 2013 Polly Shoults (nee Palie Shot) left us peacefully on April 18, 2013, having spent her last months happily bantering back and forth with the wonderful staff at the Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg, MB. Polly was affected with polio as a young child, leaving her with a life-long disability. Jean and John Morrison took the young Polly in as a foster child and raised her as their daughter. As an adult, Polly baby-sat, house-sat and pet-sat for many of the long-time residents of Albany Street in Winnipeg, and multiple generations remember her fondly, continuing to keep in touch with her until her passing. Polly's big heart and big laugh will remain with us always. She entertained us with her sharp wit and sense of humour and kept us in line, guiding many of us as we grew into the adults we are today. Polly loved people. We, her extended friends and family, will miss her. May she rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9 or a charity of your choice in Polly's name. A celebration of Polly's life will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Road. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • My sisters and I remember Polly babysitting us and doing some ironing and odd jobs around. We also like to play many hours of board games with her. We will always remember her warm smiles, and her love of people. Always a funny comment or wise crack thrown in!! In her later years, visiting with her at Kiwanis and Oakview Place. We will miss you Polly Ruth, Eleeta, Patricia and Rose!! - Posted by: Patricia Chegus (nee Nokes) (Friend) on: Apr 26, 2013

  • My dear sweet Polly...you had every reason to complain about your pain and and some of the things you were dealt in your life but you never did. You brought joy, laughter and love to people who had the honour to know you. You always threatened to "fire me" but I am grateful you kept me as a friend. You are an inspiration forever. • My earliest memory of Polly is when I woke up from an afternoon nap and there she was, babysitting me while my Mother was at a church meeting. Polly not only babysat me, but all my children, as well, plus many of my numerous nieces and nephews. She looked after our dog when I lived at home, too. Polly always remembered what was going on in my life and never failed to ask after everyone, including after our pets! She was so trustworthy and loyal. What stands out MOST in my mind when I think about Polly is that she NEVER COMPLAINED -- she, who had so much to complain about! She is a model for me as I age. I will miss her very, very much. - Posted by: Cathy Carlyle (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2013

  • I'll miss our "fight threats" and "racing dares". You could always count on Polly for the best wise cracks.... Until we meet again My Friend... - Posted by: Jim Walker (Friend) on: Apr 23, 2013

  • Polly was my Auntie. She always came to visit us or meet my mom & I at Eatons by the statue then walk to the Bay for lunch but we had to stop at a few stores along the way, it was hard for her to walk. She alway made hats & mitts as she liked to knit. I will miss you very much R.I.P. - Posted by: Elizabeth Sanderson (Shott) (Niece) on: Apr 22, 2013
