JULIO CESAR HERNANDEZ It is with deep regret that we announce on Sunday, April 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer, Julio Cesar Hernandez passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side at the age of 63. Julio was predeceased by his father Julio, mother Carmen, son Julio, and daughter Tania. Julio will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years Rosa Amalia; children Eneida (Darren), Julio (Ninel), Berta (Ricardo), Mario (Carol), Tania (William), and Karen; his grandchildren Jackie, Mauricio, Kayla, Mario, Gabriel, Katia, Karla, Miguel, Leyla, Sofia, Tatyana, and Alicia; sisters Reina, Estella, Concepcion; brothers Anibal and Amilcar; sister-in-law Josefa, and many friends and extended family in El Salvador. Julio will also be dearly missed by his beloved and faithful companion and friend Gizmo. Julio was born in Usulutan, El Salvador on January 12, 1950. He worked as a General Manager for a government firm for 22 years. Julio and his family immigrated to Canada in 1991. His hobbies included painting, carpentry, boxing, listening to "tropical" music, dancing, and most of all spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, jokes, and being a loved and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Our family would like to thank the nurses from the Community Palliative Care Program and IV program. As well as Dr. Joshua, Dr. George, Dr. Macek, Dr. Harris, Dr. Navaratnam and all the staff at the Grace hospital. Viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Blessed John XXIII Anglican Church, Assiniboina Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. A Funeral mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Blessed John XXIII, Assiniboina Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. with reception to follow in the church hall.
