JOSE MORAIS PACHECO May 3, 1946 April 24, 2013 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jose Morais Pacheco on April 24, 2013. He passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit surrounded by family. He leaves to mourn his wife of 46 years Mariana, his children Ilda (Armando), Luis (Roxanne), Sandra, Linda (Mike), and grandchildren Jesse (Louise), Scott (Danica), Melina, Aliyah, Emerson, Connor and Evan. He also leaves to mourn his siblings Manuel, Adelina, Jamie and Maria Jose and many nieces and nephews. Jose was predeceased by his father Jose in 1966 and his mother Ilda in 2009. Jose was born in Sao Miguel, Azores on May 3, 1946. He was married in 1966 to Mariana his wonderful wife of 46 years. Jose immigrated to Canada in 1971 in hopes of starting a better life with more opportunities for himself and his family. His wife and three children followed him to Canada in 1975 and two years later they had their fourth child in Canada. He worked numerous construction jobs throughout Canada including the dams in Alberta and Manitoba until he settled down at Kitchen Craft where he retired in 2007. Jose enjoyed being surrounded by his entire family. He loved planting a large garden in the summer and enjoyed sitting in the backyard watching his grandchildren play. He enjoyed watching soccer at his favourite club on RTP with his friends. He took pride in making his own wine. We will always remember our father by his great sense of humour and his ability to never stress over the little things in life. We'd like to express our thanks to all the staff at the Health Sciences Centre on GD4 and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. We'd also like to thank all our relatives and friends who have offered their prayers and support during this difficult time. Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Interment will take place at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery; 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Luis Pacheco, Armando Serra, Jesse Serra, Scott Serra, Mike Onufreychuk and Sam Viveiros. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how difficult it is to lose a parent. Find comfort in one another and know that he is in a better place. A place where they watch over us and await our reunion again. - Posted by: Elaine Barreira (Friend of Ilda) on: Apr 28, 2013
