GRANT CARMAN MOLLARD Suddenly and much too soon we lost a friend and lifetime companion. Grant passed away peacefully with his partner Dorothy Merry and loved ones Coleen and Ralph Penner and Leanne Hartry by his side on February 15, 2013. Grant was born in Stonewall Manitoba. He led a full and happy life. Grant enjoyed his retirement after a lengthy career with the U of M. He loved to watch his grandkids Travis play hockey and Kendra play ringette. His favourite pastime was playing pool with the gang at the Eagles Club in St. Norbert. A cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will be held in June. Grant's family wish to thank the firemen and paramedics that answered the call, and the doctors and nurses of the I.C.U. at Victoria Hospital. Donations in memory of Grant can be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 3870, 3459 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3V 1A4.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I grew up with this man. He baby sat me as a child, took care of me, changed my diapers, took me to the pond to feed the ducks and geese. He was always so sweet, never had an ill thing to say, always wanted the best for every one in his life. He would do anything for the people that were nearest and dearest to him. It pains me to know that I never had a chance to properly say good-bye even though this man meant more to me than I could ever think possible. He was a father-figure to me growing up, an idol, an amazing role model. I looked up to him more than anyone. I still remember like it was yesterday attending a galaxy seminar at the University with him and being so fascinated with everything. I remember the smile on his face when I did good, and I remember the tears streaming down his cheeks the day I graduated-the last time I ever saw him. I can't even remember if there were any words exchanged other than 'sorry' and 'I love you'. I truly hope he knew how much I looked up to him, because I was never given the opportunity to tell him myself. I will one day though, when our souls meet again. I love you Grandpa Grant. Rest peacefully for you deserve it and we will laugh together again some day. - Posted by: Fallon Leclerc (Granddaughter) on: Mar 23, 2014

  • Grant was a great father-in-law. He was a very patient man. I never saw him angry. He helped me alot as he knew how to make things work. He was however frustrating to golf with. He never took a practice swing or seemed to need to adjust his stance and would spank the ball straight down the fairway everytime. Grant you are missed. - Posted by: Ralph () on: Apr 27, 2013
