• Hi and sympathies to John's family. I met John at 7 Oaks, and briefly as we both waited for a CT scan. What struck me instantly about John was his friendly and outgoing nature. Despite his pain, he went out of his way to connect and engage with hospital staff and patients. We had a brief chat, and John was candid about how he had gotten himself into the health situation he was in. He was not seeking sympathy or blaming anyone - he simply told me how he had lived his life. I wish I had known him longer, before he was sick, and I wish he was still alive as it is rare to encouter a person who can make such a positive impact on other humans in such a short period of time.
