Date of Passing: Apr 27, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD ERNEST ROSE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Rick, on April 27, 2013. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Ian and Isobel, sisters - Janice, Debbie, Edna, and Karen, brother - Terrence and niece - Melissa. Left to mourn his passing are his children Richard (Tanis), Kevin and Michelle (Pepe) and grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Emma, Connor, and Logan. Also left to cherish his memory are his brother David (Wendy), sisters - Jackie, Cheryl (Gord) and Terry (Barb), as well as many extended family members, friends and neighbours. Rick was born in Winnipeg, July 1, 1951 and grew up in the North End. He was a dedicated employee and worked for Dominos for over 20 years. He loved his job and considered the people there his family. Spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories about his children and teasing family, friends and neighbours were activities Rick loved to do. He was very sociable and could be found striking up conversation no matter where he was. Rick's big heart and helpful nature will be missed by all who came in contact with him. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff in Rehab at the Health Sciences Centre who cared for Rick and helped him adjust to his recent amputation. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Rick's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba /Nunavut Region. Back in the 90s I lived on my own for the first time and Ricky was the one who was there for me when I had barely anybody else. He took care of me and gave me good advice. He was a really good friend when I didn't have any parents. I will always look back on the time that we had together because it was so special and he was so funny. He helped me get one of my first jobs with Dominoes serving pizza at the bars in downtown Winnipeg. When I came home from school I would go to his house just to chat. I just found out today that he passed away. He is lovingly remembered. R.I.P. Ricky Rose. - Posted by: Ashli (-daughter-) on: Sep 01, 2021

Ricky was one of a kind. A friend who would bend over backwards for you and expect nothing in return. He made everyone around him laugh. Any trip to Winnipeg always included a visit or two with Ricky. He will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Chris Nairne (Friend) on: May 05, 2013

Rick was a wonderful friend and a great support. I met him in Rehab where I was also adjusting to a new amputation. He supported me, made me laugh, and always had a positive attitude which was infectious. Every time he saw me he would say, "here comes trouble ". Even though I only knew him for a few months, I feel like I have lost a true and lifelong friend. He has inspired me to keep moving forward and to always count my blesings. - Posted by: Lillian Ireland (friend ) on: May 02, 2013
