Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL JOHANN FJELDSTED August 3, 1966 - April 28, 2013 It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Michael Johann Fjeldsted, husband of Milli Fjeldsted, of Pine Falls, Manitoba. Michael was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Joe and Kathy (Kathleen) Fjeldsted. He was raised in Lundar, Manitoba, and graduated from Lundar Collegiate. He married Cindy Schroeder and together they had a daughter, Ashley. In December 2008, he married Milli (Fontaine). Mike had a life of adventure. Nothing was too high to climb. No adventure was too dangerous to tackle. He loved to share stories of his many adventures. He had a unique sense of humour, which we all enjoyed. Michael enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cheesecakes, which he loved to share with his family and friends. Mike began his working career in the diamond drill industry, where he excelled as a drill operator. Mike moved to maintenance and repair of transmitter towers. Mike climbed the tallest tower in Manitoba, it took him a whole shift to climb to the top of the tower, change the light bulb, have lunch and climb back down. For a few years, Mike worked on the ice breakers on the Red River. Most recently, Mike worked in the construction industry. He was seriously injured on the job, which brought an abrupt end to his working career, two years ago. Michael is survived by his wife Milli; daughter Ashley and grandson Logan; Amma, Asa Fjeldsted; Dad, Joe (Kathy) Fjeldsted; Mom, Kathleen (Kathy) Axtell; brothers, Gordon and Rhys; sister, Kirsten (David) Reasner; cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; stepchildren Stephanie (James), Jessica (Sheldon), Cary (Merilet), along with his step-grandchildren and his "best buddy" Shadow. A gathering celebrating Michael's life will be held at the Lundar Community Hall at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The service will conclude at the Hall with a lunch to follow. Cremation is to follow. Michael will be buried beside his Afi in the Lundar South Cemetery at a private family gathering. Pallbearers will be Derek Fjeldsted, Cameron Lowery, Amos Crowe, Mike Kenward, David Sainsbury and Randy Cook. Mike's grandson, Logan will be his Honorary Pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Mike had a zest for life, he was a unqiue, fun-loving, caring, crazy guy in his own way and carried his own special qualities. I know he loved my mom very much. It was a joy to have been a part of me and my kids' lives. He was a great big ball of energy and laughs, he was a story teller and also a joke teller. I'm gonna miss him so much!! - Posted by: Jessica (stepdaughter) on: May 07, 2013
