Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA PERREAULT Peacefully on May 1, 2013 at Ste. Anne Hospital, Alma Marie Perreault (born Desrosiers) passed away at the age of 83. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Joseph; their eight children and partners Yvette (Sheila), Suzanne (Joanne), Gisele (Peggy), Claude (Joanne), Denise (Rod), Daniel, Louis and Joel, their grandchildren Damon, Eliza, Rowan, Vincent, Julien, and great-grandchild Grace. Alma is survived by brother Louis, and sisters Marie-Louise (Thomas) and Denise (Daenick). Alma is predeceased by her siblings Thérèse, Edouard, Emilien, Jean, Joseph, and Achilles. Mom was born in Ste. Anne des Chenes, MB on October 27, 1929, the seventh child of Vincent Ferrier Desrosiers and Marie Attala Henrie. Mom completed Teacher-training College and taught for three years at the one room Ellice School in St. Lazare, MB. It was in St. Lazare that Alma met a sparkling, blue-eyed "rogue" named Joseph Perreault. They married in 1952 and moved to Saskatoon where their first daughter was born. Mom and Dad moved 16 more times, primarily to small towns in southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Their last child was born in Ste. Anne, MB where they retired. In addition to raising a great family, Mom continued to work outside the home as a teacher for special needs kids, in adult basic education, and as a substitute teacher. She also worked in the Activities Program at the Villa and with the Parish Administration. Alma loved square dancing, singing, and her many hobbies: quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and tending her vegetable and flower gardens. Dad built our houses and Mom made them into wonderful homes. Mom always had a twinkle in her eyes for her beloved spouse, Joseph. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 following the viewing at 10:00 a.m. at the Ste. Anne Church with cremation to follow. Ash interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Mom has requested that donations be made to the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society, 100 - 4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1C4, phone 204-786-1616 or donate online at www.mss.mb.ca/donate.php The family would like to express their thanks to the caring staff at LaVilla (home care) and Ste. Anne Hospital. We would also like to thank Father Lévesque, the organist, the choir, and all those who participated in the liturgy. We appreciate your presence, your condolences and your support.
