GORDON GEORGE THOMPSON October 29, 1926 - April 28, 2013 Gordon passed peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Doreen, daughter Brenda Leach (Ken), son Keith Thompson (Patti), daughter-in-law Kathy Turner, nine beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Lyle Thompson, mother Bea Travis, father George Thompson, step-father Jim Travis and sister Pat Ewing. Gordon was employed by CNR for 43 years. In retirement he spent time enjoying his grandchildren, travelling whenever he could and discussing the latest political issues with whomever would listen. At his request there will be no funeral. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Starbuck Cemetery. Gordon's family would like to thank all the home care workers for the exceptional care given, making his later life very comfortable and thank the palliative nurses and doctors who extended his time at home. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gordon's honour to Riverview Health Centre Foundation or Cancer Research Society would be appreciated.
