WALTER DAVID BUSKELL Walter David Buskell passed away peacefully on May 3, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born October 12, 1918 at Teulon, Manitoba to David and Ida Buskell. He was predeceased by his first wife Louise and survived by their children Verna Williams (Harold Kallman), Larry Buskell (Wanda), Neil Buskell (Rose), Wendy Walters, Debbie Smaldon, Bruce Buskell (Susanne), Loreen Buskell (Trevor Weinberger) Kathie Buskell (Rick Brown) plus 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Walter was also predeceased by his wife Olive and is survived by her children Lloyd Scaife (Judy), Ray Scaife (Barb) and Barry Scaife (Evelyn) and their families. Walter is survived by his brother Hugh Buskell (Frances) and sister-in-law Sadie Buskell. Dad was a proud veteran of the Second World War and served overseas with 2nd Battalion, R.C.E. After the war he apprenticed as a bricklayer and worked with the Winnipeg School Division in 1957 until his retirement in 1981. In retirement, he was an active member of his church, Faith Baptist, and enjoyed gardening and family visits. One of his favourite pursuits was a long walk which included a stop for pie and coffee at his favourite coffee shop. The family would like to thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge where he resided the past two years. Thanks also to the medical staff at Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care and support during his recent stay. A memorial service will be held May 6 at Faith Baptist Church, 386 McGregor St. at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.   • Walter will be missed by our family. He always had a kind word for me and any member of my family. He loved to laugh and make those crazty comments about the "turnip crop" in Tuelon.
