DR. THOMAS HOWARD OWEN 1944-2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, partner and friend, Tom Owen. His love, loyalty, and strength were legendary. His time here was marked by his fierce love for his family, his unceasing sense of humour, and his unmistakable passion for every moment in his life. He worked diligently to contribute in every way possible to the many communities he was a part of, and saw it as his unspoken duty to help anyone he encountered in his life, in any way he could. To his family he was a man of unrelenting loyalty and kindness and it was a true an everlasting privilege to know and love him. Many knew him for his intensity and staunch principles, a man who never missed an opportunity to fight for what he believed in. He took on many causes, both winning and losing but all equal in his belief in what he felt was right and fair and just. He used his privilege to work alongside those with less power in this world, and spoke up and fought against any kind of oppression he encountered. He was a good man from start to finish, and his was a life of few regrets. He is survived by his daughters Alex and Katie, his stepson Bradley Simmonds, his partner Jarka Hlouskaova, and his best friend and the mother of his children Sheila Owen.
