Cathy was one of the toughest-sounding ER nurses I worked with, but she had a heart of gold. She was a strong advocate for all us nurses. Her strength and determination was an inspiration to me in my career. My sympathies John and Kyle. Cherish the memories. - Posted by: Eileen Jones (Friend and co-worker) on: May 24, 2013

I was saddened to hear of Cathy's death. I first met Cathy at VGH Emergency Department when she came over from HSC. She was very experienced & unflappable. When the heat was on Cathy was always strong. She was a valuable member of our ER team. My sincere condolences to John & Kyle. Very saddened to hear of Cathy's passing. She was a great mentor when I first began working in the emergency at the Vic and was always the go to person in difficult situations. I will never forget the "girls weekend" in Grand Forks and the never ending 40th birthday party. She will be missed by all who knew her. Condolences to John, Kyle and family. - Posted by: Sheree Meyer (Former friend and co-worker) on: May 08, 2013

I was privileged to have worked with Cathy for many years. She was a wonderful nurse who always spoke her mind. She had great sense of humor and we shared many laughs together. We often debated who was louder, her or me. Doug and I are very saddened to hear of her death. Our hearts go out to John and Kyle and the rest of her family. We pray that they will be strengthened in knowing that she is now at peace and no longer suffering. - Posted by: Cathy Coates (Friend and coworker) on: May 08, 2013
