JUDITH MARIE ODGER (WARGA)
Born: Feb 18, 1945
Date of Passing: May 06, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH MARIE ODGER (nee WARGA) February 18, 1945 - May 6, 2013 With family by her side, Judy has left us to be with Gramps as our Angel in Heaven. Her courage and determination through her illness was an inspiration to all who knew her. Judy's memory will be forever cherished by her husband Fred (Pixie) and by her children Keith (Kim) and Ken (Deanna). Judy will always be in the heart and prayers of her mother Josie Warga, her brothers Jerry (Maryann), Bob (Sharon), Charlie (Barbara), and her many nieces and nephews. Nana's love will be especially missed by her grandchildren Brittany (Dylan), Mathew and Jesse. Nana was blessed with a great-grandchild, little baby Jude that brought much happiness to her over the past 10 months. Nana was their greatest supporter and they all were her shining stars. There was never a day she didn't love them all. Nana will be remembered for her kindness, patience, support and unconditional love to all her family and friends. Nana was the "secret holder" in the family and with friends. You could always rely on her for a great ear for listening and helpful advice no matter how difficult the issue was. There was never a person or animal that Nana would not have compassion for or help. Nana's love for animals took her on many an adventure with her dog club friends or through the streets of Winnipeg. There wasn't a dog in the neighbourhood that Nana didn't pet or have affection for. In her daily walks with Pixie and Papa they would turn a normal 15 minute dog walk into a two hour social visit with all the unscheduled stops to play and talk with puppies and owners. Pixie (and the neighbourhood dogs) will miss their walking "buddie" and special treat provider. Nana loved to travel with friends and family and took much pleasure in her trips to warm climates. She loved to walk the beaches and take in all the natural beauty of these tropical paradises. The was no warm spot she wouldn't make Papa collect Air Miles for to join the kids or Charlie and Barb and their friends on an adventure in the tropics. There are many great memories we all hold of these enjoyable times that will be cherished forever. The support Nana received during her fight with cancer from the medical profession, her church, her dog club friends, family close to home and afar was very comforting for her. There was never a day when she was not receiving love and caring from someone. Special thank you to Dr. Foyte from Seven Oaks Oncology, Dr. Bilash, Father Bohdan and the volunteers at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church who treated Nana with dignity, compassion and understanding during her illness. Nana was very thankful for this support and expressed how important it was to have so many people who cared for her in her life. The last and greatest thank you goes to Papa who was Nana's best friend, loving husband and the strongest person for her through these trying times. Papa was unwavering in his love, determination and commitment right to Nana's final day and for that I know she thanks him with all her heart. Divine Liturgy in celebration of Judy's life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Judy's name to the St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave., Winnipeg, MB or to CancerCare Manitoba. We had an endearing relationship of mutual admiration complementing each other on our shared view of life and beautiful things in this world, including love for animals and their wondrous ways. She freely shared her joy of Pixie and more recently of her great grandson Jude. We shared expectation of miracle and lit candles in support of her hope for a miracle. I met Judy at Papa's funeral and we became close dear friends. She was my dearest Cousin. I will miss Judy and her love sharing ways forever and will cherish my memories of her - forever. May she rest in eternal peace. - Posted by: Ernest Varga (Cousin and close family friend) on: May 09, 2013
