CHARLES JAWORSKI Charles Jaworski, 83, of Winnipeg passed quietly from this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Grace Hospice in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mr. Jaworski battled cancer over the last year before taking his final rest. Born March 5, 1930, as the firstborn son of Lawrence and Veronica Jaworski of Brandon, Manitoba. Charlie, as he was known by family and friends, was always regarded as a determined soul who worked tirelessly to serve family, friends, and anyone in need. He began working as an electrician for Manitoba Hydro at the young age of 17 and quickly showed his ability to excel. While working in Neepawa, he met and fell in love with his lifetime sweetheart and companion, Vivian Bodnaruk. They were married in Brandon on September 26, 1953. Charlie progressed steadily within the company, holding a number of positions of responsibility, including Area Manager, Maintenance and Construction Manager, and finally Mitigation Manager. Charlie and Vivian had two children along the way, firstborn son, Rick, followed by a daughter, Linda. The family spent most of their time living in Winnipeg, where Charlie and Vivian retired. Charlie was known to all as a man who could get things done and who cared deeply for family. He is survived by his wife, Vivian, son Rick Jaworski of Atlanta, GA USA and daughter Linda King of Santa Clara, UT USA. Charlie was the grandfather to five grandsons, Shawn King, Derek Jaworski, Christopher King, Brent Jaworski, and Joshua King, and two great- grandsons, Paul Michael King and William Asher King. Charlie is preceded in death by his brother Ken, and survived by brothers Stan, Walter, and Joe, and sisters Cecile, Charlotte, and Jean. Charlie will always be loved and remembered as a person who served others and loved his family. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held Friday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers donations in Charles' memory may be made to the Cancer Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • Charles (who we simply referred to as 'Charlie') was a very unique individual. He was, without doubt, a very hard working and talented person. We shared many projects and experiences together, both, on and off the job! Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes and we 'reeled in' many fish together, over the years ! He will be sadly missed by his family and all of us in whose lives he played a part of, in some way or another. Charlie - the 'big lake in the sky' is not designated as 'Catch & Release' so, rest and relax in peace ! - Posted by: Walter and Audrey Shyiak (Friends and co-worker ) on: May 10, 2013

  • My parents were close friends with Charlie and his family, us kids grew up together for awhile in Thompson and later everyone moved to Winnipeg. I remember going to their house every Christmas with great memories of hospitality and good times. Mr.Jaworski as I recall was a man that you could always count on if you ever needed a hand with anything, his work ethic was bar none. I learned alot of skills working along with Charlie and my Dad as a child, everything from wiring to pouring cement. His personality and ethics seem to be attributes that are far and few in between this day and age. I hope to pass on these attributes that I have learned from Charlie and my Dad to my children. Rest in peace Charlie, my condolences to the family. - Posted by: Tim Shyiak () on: May 09, 2013
