Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Will always remember Ann's delicious apple pies which she baked from apples from her neighbor's apple tree in Winnipeg. - Posted by: Paulina &Alvin Pokrant (Sister & nephew) on: Jun 26, 2013

  • I remember the carefree days, being a kid and going on holidays with mom and dad. Many trips were west to Calgary to visit aunt Ann and uncle Ray. Paridise comes to mind as I think about the valley and the horse ranch in the foothills. Aunt Ann's smile and constant laughter, stories and camping trips, fish fries and wood stoves, it was all about living life to the fullist. She did that even through the tough times, but she was always my aunt and always more concerned about others than herself. Her words were always kind, this is how I remember her, very special and happy. Although we all get caught up in our own lives and do not get the time we used to have with our extended families, I always thought of Aunt Ann. - Posted by: Greg Edel (nephew) on: May 21, 2013

  • Dear Auntie Anne, I will always remember those hot summer days that we spent camping and fishing with you and Uncle Ray in Alberta. How excited we were to drive across Saskatchewan to meet up with you! I will never forget the warmth with which you always welcomed us when we arrived at the ranch, and I still remember sitting with Bobby in his bedroom and listening to him play his guitar and sing 'Me and Bobby Mcgee'. Even today, it remains one of my favorite songs. Thank you for the wonderful memories of such a simple time, you and Uncle Ray were a huge part of my childhood. I am so happy to know that you are at peace and finally with your family. It also brings me comfort to know that my dad was there to great you too. Much love, Lynne Edel - Posted by: Lynne Edel (Niece) on: May 18, 2013

  • Dear Ann, How we remember 'with smiles' those many times we would drop by for a quick visit and there was no leaving. We'd always "have to stay for supper". You and Ray were always like family and fond times at Simons Valley and Dalemead (King Ranch) are remembered by us and our kids Kary Lyn, Sean and Noel. They were always up for a visit to Uncle Ray and Auntie Ann's. Thanks for the memories. God's peace.
