Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE HOOD December 11, 1917 - May 8, 2013 Peacefully, with courage and dignity, Rose passed at the age of 95 after enjoying a long and healthy life. Rose will be sadly missed by her husband Jim of 71 years; daughter Louise (Ray); son Jack; grandchildren Kelly, Brent, Ryan, Hayden, Joshua; and eight great-grandchildren. Rose was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Alonsa area with seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her younger brother Steve. Rose had a long career as a furrier, retiring at 72. Rose was a woman with determination and strength. Family meant everything to our Nanny. She loved us and was proud of her children and supported her grandchildren at every opportunity. She opened her heart and her home to family and friends who came into her life. She enjoyed cooking, the more the better, always sharing the leftovers. Her perogies and cabbage rolls were beyond compare and we enjoyed many family meals. She loved gardening and sharing the harvest. She was creative, knitting afghans for us, crocheting, needlework, upholstery, sewing and crafts. She mastered many complicated projects. She enjoyed summers with the family at Nutimik Lake and Lac du Bonnet. We have many cherished memories. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
