Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIVAN BARTON Peacefully on May 5, 2013, with his loving wife Kathleen of 58 years at his side, Ivan passed away. He is survived by his wife Kathleen; sons Charles (Erika), Jeffrey (Karen); grandchildren Caitlin (Nick) Preston, James and Thomas; and great-grandchildren Joey amd Elliot Preston. He also leaves to mourn him his sister Jean (Howard) Colhoun in Zimbabwe along with nieces and nephews. Ivan was born in Co. Tyrone, N. Ireland, on November 17, 1929. He immigrated to Canada with his wife and family in 1956. Ivan enjoyed a very successful 50 year career in sales. Upon retiring he and his wife enjoyed many summers at their trailer at Spruce Sands. The family would like to express their thanks to the 3rd Floor East staff at Oakview Place for all their exceptional care. In accordance with Ivan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Just learned of Ivan's passing, sorry for the loss Kay. Remember Ivan fondly for his many sales calls to Hampton Interiors, still can't believe his car was pretty much spotless every time he saw us! Ivan was considered more than just a business associate and I thought of both you and Ivan as friends.
