SYLVIA STREIB After a courageous, though lengthy, battle with cancer, with sad and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our sweet mother, Sylvia Mariette Marie Streib (nee Roy), on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the age of 62. She went quietly with her youngest son by her side at Jocelyn House Hospice, in Winnipeg. Sylvia always had time for a friend or loved one, never hesitating to offer a helping hand, or a piece of advice when needed. She will be remembered, for her endearing smile, enduring love, unwaning strength, and deep devotion to her children and family, by those who survive her: sons Ryan and Jonathan, her sisters (Whitney, Gisele, Pauline, Aline, Marcelle, and Michelle), her brothers (Roger, Guy, Romeo, Jean-Louis, and Marc) and her mother, Simone, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Sylvia was predeceased by her brother Alain, her sister Rose-Marie, and her father, Jean-Baptiste. As per Sylvia's wishes, no funeral service will be held, a gathering of family will take place at a later date to celebrate her life. We would like to take this time to thank the staff at Jocelyn House Hospice for their compassion and dedicated care. Donations may be made in Sylvia's memory to Jocelyn House Hospice, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7, 204-253-5898 www.jocelynhouse.ca.
