  • I remember the first time I met Lionel. It was at Casey's Inn and I was looking to get sponsors for the Lac du Bonnet Blues senior hockey team. Lionel overheard my conversation and called me over to his favorite sitting spot at the bar. He introduced himself as Lionel "The Big Guy". To my surprise Lionel became the most generous sponsor the team had. I travelled many road trips on the bus with Lionel. All along getting to know this man. He was truly a "BLUE", a member of our hockey family. Lionel got me to come out to his house and paint his overly large gazebo the Blue's colors. He was planning a championship party. The year was 04-05 and we won the cup. True to his word Lionel hosted the party at his place. What a party it was. I had the pleasure of Lionel staying at my place on occasion. For my 50th party Lionel offered his place for my family to stay. My nephew still talks of driving Lionel's boat. Lionel was truly a great man, very generous, and always pleasant. He will be missed by all. Rest in peace "BIG GUY". Your friend Jeff Seifried, Blue's Coach - Posted by: Jeff Seifried (Friend) on: May 19, 2013
