YVONNE PAQUIN (BOULET)
Date of Passing: May 18, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE PAQUIN (nee BOULET) On May 18, 2013, at the age of 90, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully. Yvonne (Boulet) Paquin was born in 1922 on September 20 in Dunrea, Manitoba. She was one of 15 children and is survived by her dear brother Napoléon. Yvonne married Fernand Louis Paquin on September 17, 1949, and spent the next 59 years in a loving, devoted partnership until his passing in 2008. Grandmère, as she was affectionately known, was extremely proud of her family. She is mourned by her six children and partners: Gilles (Patti), Myriam (Jim), Robert (Michelle), Michel (Jeannette), Paul (Susan) and Claude (Stacey), along with 13 grandchildren: Julien, Justin, Tarina, Nicole, Patrick, Natalie (Richard), Sara (Gavin), Manon (Stephen), Cedric (Geneviève), Jaqueline (Jonathan), Kendra, Rhea and Emilia, and seven great-grandchildren Tea, Christian, André, Angèle, Ivan, Brianne and Nicolas, (with another on the way). Grandmère's love for her family was boundless and infectious. She was a model caregiver and lived to support her loved ones in any way she could. In life she was tenacious, loving and bound by a moral code for which she was uncompromising. Yvonne was a devout Catholic and her faith provided her great strength throughout the joys and hardships she experienced during her long life. Her compassion for others and ability to see beauty in the world extended to all those around her, even her homely little dog Puff, whom she missed till the end. Yvonne especially loved music and art. She loved to draw and paint natural landscapes and figures, with a penchant for flowers and animals. Her piano was her companion when Fernand had passed and she loved to sing and play. On her last Mother's day, shortly before crossing over, she sang "On revient toujours" (We always come back) along with her daughter Myriam, which was caught on video as a cherished memory of her special gifts. She will be dearly missed and her legacy will live on through many generations. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital (Foyer Valade) for their compassion and loving care during our mother's final months. A celebration of Yvonne's life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 avenue de la Cathédrale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface Cathedral or Actionmarguerite. Mme Paquin was such a special giving woman. It was such a pleasure and a comfort to live with both M. and Mme Paquin during my university years. The freshly squeezed orange juice and homemade cookies made us feel so welcome! Merci Mme Paquin, je chanterai un Ave Maria pour toi chez moi en ton honneur.... - Posted by: Lorraine Chatel (friend) on: May 22, 2013
